Want to work for Melbourne’s leading Wedding DJ company?

We’re looking for;

Experienced, professional, punctual DJs to join the team for regular weekend wedding and function work. We handle the marketing, enquiries and bookings, and send the gigs to you. Once a couple is booked, you take over: you run the pre-wedding meeting, stay in touch with them by email, and then perform on the day.

The ideal DJ candidate;

Will be well presented and possess the following:

• Proven ability to DJ and seamlessly beat-match songs
• Skilled at song selection, with broad music knowledge across all styles and genres
• Experience at weddings, corporate events and private functions
• The confidence to read a crowd, entertain, and make a positive impact on our clients’ events
• Availability for regular Friday, Saturday and Sunday bookings (with some mid week events)
• Looking for a long-term place on a team, not to build your own DJ business

Customer service, communication and professionalism are very important to us. Our team is reliable, communicates well and is confident and outgoing.

OUR PROCESS

• Pay: starts from $120 per hour, plus superannuation paid on top.
• Regular bookings are sent to you, with no need to find your own clients.
• Mercury handles marketing, enquiries, quotes, contracts and bookings. After booking, you take over the client relationship: you run the pre-wedding meeting with the couple over Zoom and handle follow-up emails until the event.
• We can supply all the equipment and music for gigs. You pick up the equipment on the day, perform the gig, and return it the next day (if you play regularly, you can hold onto the gear). You’re also welcome to use your own gear, but it must be approved by Mercury first so it matches our standard and setup.
• You will not be required to MC if you don’t wish to.  However its a bonus if you are keen and want to learn
• You’ll sign a subcontractor agreement covering confidentiality and not approaching Mercury’s clients.
• You must own a car (anything with 4 doors or a hatchback is usually big enough) and hold a valid licence.
• You’ll work as a subcontractor. You need an ABN and your own public liability insurance, or be willing to arrange both before your first booking. If you need help arranging public liability insurance, we can assist.
• You’ll be asked to commit to bookings up to 12 months in advance. Give us your unavailable dates upfront, and we ask that you honour confirmed bookings.
• You own (or will purchase) formal attire.
